How long does the eye exam take and what does it include?
About 45 minutes. The doctor examines more than 20 parameters: visual acuity, autorefractometry, intraocular pressure, biomicroscopy and the condition of the fundus, then selects the optimal correction and gives a consultation. The procedure is comfortable and stress-free; come by appointment at a time that suits you.
How much does an eye exam cost at Eurooptica?
From 400 to 800 MDL depending on the examination package: a basic check from 400 MDL, an in-depth exam with the full set of parameters up to 800 MDL. The manager tells you the exact price when booking and the doctor confirms it after the initial examination. Prices are in lei and already include the ophthalmologist’s consultation.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, exams are by appointment only: the doctor works to a schedule and the examination takes 45 minutes. Leave your number in the form on this page or call the single booking line +373 67 24 00 00; the manager calls you back and picks a convenient time and store. Requests left in the evening or at the weekend are processed on the next working day.
From what age can a child’s eyesight be checked?
From birth. Children’s diagnostics are adapted to the child’s age and the examination is calm and playful. An early check makes it possible to catch myopia, astigmatism, strabismus and amblyopia in time; these conditions respond best to correction in childhood, and our Children’s Vision Therapy programme helps to address them.
What do I get after the exam?
A detailed vision map across 20+ parameters, the ophthalmologist’s conclusion and a prescription for glasses or contact lenses if correction is needed. The doctor explains the results and draws up an individual plan: monitoring, glasses, lenses or treatment. You can choose and order glasses right away in the store; standard lenses are ready the same day.
Where does the exam take place?
At Eurooptica stores in Chișinău, in the Rîșcani, Centre, Ciocana and Botanica districts; hours Mon–Fri 9:00–18:00, Sat 9:00–14:00. When you book, the manager picks the nearest store where the doctor is seeing patients on the day you need. Addresses, phones and the map are in the “Our clinics in Chișinău” section.
What equipment is used?
Modern diagnostic systems from Japan and France, including VISIONIX. The equipment measures vision parameters automatically and with high precision, so the examination is fast and comfortable, and the doctor gets an objective picture rather than only the patient’s “I can see / I can’t see” answers.
Can I choose glasses or lenses right after the exam?
Yes. Based on the results, the doctor and consultant select glasses or contact lenses: the stores carry over 2,000 frames and lenses made to order, including individual designs. Standard lenses are fitted in our own workshop the same day on French BRIOT equipment. No separate appointment is needed; the selection happens right after the consultation.
